Around Shivpuri - Day hike

Area around Shivpuri is full of small trails perfect for day hikes.

Following are some of them:

1) Waterfall hike ( Nirgud waterfall )

You can visit the 'Nirgud waterfall' located between Rishikesh and Shivpuri, the waterfall is at 35 minute easy uphill walk from the road head. Nice place to visit at noon time or post lunch. Having packed lunch there is also a good idea.

2) Kunjapuri temple visit

The downhill trek starts from the ‘Kunjapuri’ temple (24 kms from Rishikesh, via Narendranagar and Hindolakhal). ‘Kunjapuri’ temple (1665m) is dedicated to Goddess Durga. You You can catch the first views of the legendary Himalayan peaks of Banderpoonch, Chaukhamba, Nanda Devi, Trisul from the temple.

It takes approx 4 hrs to finish the trek at Tapovan (Rishikesh). It is advised to start early in the morning to avoid the heat of the day. This trek has cactus, palm trees and decidious trees all around. It is also possible to do the same trek from Tapovan to ‘Kunjapuri’ temple, all uphill.
