Shivpuri is a small hamlet on the banks of River Ganga 16 Kms ahead of Rishikesh.
Small for sure, but this place is the hub of whitewater rafting in India. Because of its close proximity from the major North Indian towns like Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad, Chandigarh, Jaipur etc. this place offers an easy getaway for adventure seekers. There are number of river side camps around this area that provide accommodation amidst natural surroundings. Camping and rafting being the main activities, other activities that are possible are day hike, overnight treks, kayaking, rappelling / rock climbing, spiritual trips to nearby places.
